Heavy snowfall shuts down Troodos roads

 


ALL roads to the Troodos mountain are closed for all vehicles due to heavy snowfall, police announced this morning.


The Kakopetria to Karvounas, Pedhoulas to Prodromos, Pedhoulas to Ayios Nicolaos and Prodromos to Trooditissa roads are only open to four-wheel drive vehicles or those equipped with snow-chains.

Police also shut down the road between Kelokedara and Nata, through the Zyripillis bridge, after the river overflowed.

The road between Kelokedara and Salamiou is also closed due to landslides.

The roads between Gerakia, Kykkos and Stavros tis Psokas and Macheras to Kionia are open only to four-wheel drive vehicles or those with snow-chains.

Police also said the road between Palehori and Agros is dangerous due to light snowfall.
